Long Indian Pepper
An heirloom pepper variety originally from Hubli, India. These peppers are long (5-6”), thick walled and spicy. Scoville heat ranges from 50,000-100,000. The plant itself is extremely prolific, sending out dozens of chilies that go from green to orange to red, affecting the spice level with it.
The thicker walls of this pepper make them ideal for adding to a variety of dishes or blending into a paste with ginger and garlic. Stores well in the fridge for 2+ weeks. Peppers can also be dried and used in tadkas or thrown into soups/stews.
Peppers appreciate fertile, well drained, neutral soil. Plants grow as a small bush and do not require staking or trellising.
