An heirloom 3-4”long, oval eggplant with striking purple and white stripes. Originally from the town of Udumalpet in the Tiruppur district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.. Has a rich, meaty texture when cooked down with traditional South Asian spices.
We’ve had a few customers in past years get so excited seeing this eggplant variety because it was named after their hometown. Yet they were not familiar with this exact variety.
